El Taller “The Workshop” is a 10,500 SF project is being developed/renovated to house studios for the Latino Community’s artists and artisans and their works for the benefit of the fabric of culture in Sunnyside, Denver’s City center neighborhood. The renovation consists of studios housing new modular workspaces for drawing, textiles, printmaking, jewelry, an exhibition space, restrooms, new accessible vertical circulation, and a new entry housed in an existing wooden barrel vault structure that was moved and repurposed from a 1920’s aircraft hangar with two existing floors.  A new exterior courtyard and sculpture garden with a dynamic tensile canopy will be connected to the new entry as a gathering and meditative area for patrons and serve as a aesthetic “gem” for the neighborhood and community.
